The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year because of a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering again next season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
