The veteran is projected to sit out for all five of the Lakers' games in the month of October, including the first game against the Warriors.

His count of over 1,500 matches participated in is only 50 away than overtaking former Boston Celtics star the legend's league record.
The title winner played in 70 of the LA Lakers' eighty-two games last season and was active for 71 matches in the previous year.
