An Australian man who vaulted across a fence and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, 26, was given a sentence to over a week in detention for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control told news outlets.

The man shoved beyond security and charged at the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of disrupting concerts and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has mentioned experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her show in the English city in several years ago took the lives of 22 people and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to cross the barriers. Security staff stopped him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "free."

Police arrested him the following day and accused him with public nuisance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by a news outlet as saying that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

The actress has not addressed the situation.

Erivo discussed the incident to the press, remarking that she "simply desired to verify my colleague was safe."

"I'm sure he didn't intend us danger, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I aimed to ensure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she stated.
