Trump Invites Families of Shot National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the White House.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Community members assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and charges of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and cease granting entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey said on television.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
